Advancing Project Risk Management Skills for DRDO Scientists

The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam hosted a 3-day Training Program on Project Risk Identification & Management for senior scientists of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), bringing together 29 participants from across the country.
The valedictory session was graced by Shri BVSS Krishna Kumar, Outstanding Scientist (Rtd.) and Dr. Raja Ramanna Distinguished Fellow at Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL), who addressed the cohort and shared insights from his extensive experience, emphasising the importance of factoring risk in complex project environments.
Led by Prof. B. Srirangacharyulu, the program covered key aspects of project management, including project appraisal, risk management, identification and documentation of risks, risk analysis and response strategies, understanding project uncertainty through PERT, as well as stakeholder management and project governance.
The program offered an intensive and practice-oriented learning experience, aimed at strengthening risk-aware decision-making and execution in high-impact projects.
