Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF)

The key objective of the MGNF is to create a cadre of individuals who understand and can contribute to the creation of a district-level ecosystem to support skill development and support the district administration to improve skill development program delivery as well as develop a cadre of committed and competent development leaders.

The curriculum implemented by IIMV is approved by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, which enables theoretical inputs in the Academic Modules and application of the knowledge in the districts with the guidance of the mentors during District Immersion Modules. The Academic Modules are delivered through a combination of physical and online lectures, workshops, among others. The evaluation process comprises end of module examinations, Quizzes by Faculty in the class, projects/assignments, participation in classroom activities, presentations/ oral examinations, among others.

Program Structure
The program has two major components, Academic Modules and District Immersion Modules
Academic Module
In the two years duration of the program, there will be FOUR (4) Academic Modules, each having a total of up to 13 days.

District Immersion Module
In the two years duration of the program, there will be SIX (6) District Immersion Modules (DIMs), each having a total of up to 120 days.

Borrowing privileges

MGNF Fellows can borrow two books during their stay at campus. They have to return books to the library before returning to their allotted districts.

EPWRF India Time Series This link opens in a new window EPWRF India Time Series is a unique online database with its comprehensive coverage of Indian economy for a fairly long time period and it comprises over 50,000 variables capsuled in 20 modules. The database tries to provide in continuous time series from 1950 depending on the availability.
Open Government Data Platform India This link opens in a new window The Objective of Open Government Data Platform India is to facilitate the access to Government owned shareable data and information in both human readable and machine readable forms in a proactive and periodically updatable manner, within the framework of various related policies, Acts and Rules of Government of India, thereby promoting wider accessibility and application of government owned data and unlocking the potential of data for national development.
